Creating a niche website is considered one of the best methods of making some money online in a short amount of time. In fact, I have done it literally hundreds of times myself.

This is because when you focus on a specific niche, you can reach out to specific people interested in what you have to offer. Otherwise, you are focusing on a wide range of different interests, making it almost impossible to set yourself apart form the thousands of other websites out there trying to sell the same things that you are.

What Makes A Niche Profitable?

In fact, by identifying a profitable niche website and limiting yourself to that specific niche, you will find that your website performs really well in terms of conversions. I have found that people looking for something specific and finds that your site offers it, are more likely to spend money with you. Better yet if you can find a niche to promote that doesn't already have a lot of competition, your chances of making money get even higher.

For example, you might sell baseball hats on your niche website. But instead of just selling baseball hats, you decide to sell baseball hats with camels on them which no one else is doing. This means you will get all the business when it comes to this particular niche, as opposed to the guy selling multiple kinds of baseball hats.

A common misconception most new marketers I work with talk about is this: with a niche website, the more visits you get to the site, the better. But in reality, this doesn't make a niche website successful in regard to making money, it just means that it's good at getting traffic. Take it from me, traffic does NOT equal sales. So while you might get less traffic than you are used to seeing at your websites, the kind of traffic you get is higher quality and therefore will gain you many more sales in the end.

You can easily find the proper niche websites to focus on, just by looking at your news. I have made thousands of dollars just from watching my local news, really. The article topics that are popular tend to repeat themselves in a certain fashion, over and over again. These are good things to watch for!You might figure out that nowadays, people are looking online for purple colored bean bags that they can't find anywhere else. Or maybe you discover that a niche website that promotes dangly shell earrings is the best way to go.  

The best way to go about it is to determine which products are selling, and then dig deeper. If you know that purses are popular, what kinds of purses actually sell the best and will make you the most money? After figuring out that cordless phones are still selling like hotcakes, don't stop there. Figure out the color, style and size of the most popular versions. You might find that creating a niche website for yellow pocket size cordless phones is the best way to go.

Don't count it out if a potential niche seems silly to you, you might be surprised to know what people spend their money on nowadays.
